The aim of the Melbourn Fete & Music on the Moor is to bring the village together, to have fun, socialise and raise money for local groups. Each year the committee organises the day so that local clubs, societies and charities can set-up stalls and provide entertainment to help with their fundraising. All proceeds are put back into the community.

As the Fete grows in size each year, the committee has ever more to organise. We rely heavily on volunteers to help us out. Without our volunteers, the day would not be possible!

I have given some thought to the energy crisis we must all face at sometime in the future. It seems to me that each and every village ,town or city in the uk needs to make its own power and be responsible for its own waste.?Be it wind farm’s, hydro power or nuclear power.

If we choose to live in a city using a lot of energy we must have the means to power our well lit existence.?But just because we live in the country and work in a city we must not forget the energy that we use getting to work, electric trains, cars, buses, lighting, heating,and the dreaded aircon all have a price to pay.?

So what to do?
