Poetry Written On Postcards to Royston Arts Group (artist Paul Bodsworth)
In the countryside at night it is dark as dark, no street lights no pathways, the white lines have all worn away. Great ruts have formed and are full of water from the recent rainfall.
When you look up at the sky the stars are shining down on you like hundreds and thousands on a birthday cake, the silence of the night is deafening.
Just an odd sound of snuffling from the undergrowth, a fox barking and a car humming in the distance.
The only light that can be seen is from the moon above. The man in the moon is smiling down at me and you can see the moon valleys and moon mountains as clear as a bell and looking up at this great giant, I feel humbled.
