Poetry Written On Postcards to Royston Arts Group (artist Graham Benstead)
If you come with me I will show you how
Air becomes warmer and yellow light begins to seep
Through a cold afternoon.

If you cross from the desert of snow you will find
It is hard to believe cold will not return
Even though snowdrops are lit candles
And blackbirds sing at the thought of returning green.
When you arrive you will see that we have no fear of rain
It flows back to the oceans, speaks of summer returning
Like these flower heads and new boughs unstoppable.
